A few weeks ago we started talking about the new trend at parties to celebrate the end of pregnancy. In many countries it is known as Baby Shower; in our country -as in many others- it is known as Diaper party.
We have already talked about what a Baby Shower was and the steps for organizing it. Today we will talk about something very fun: games.
These games are related to pregnancy or the future baby and will be what makes all your guests laugh a lot.
Next we will present the most classic games for a Baby Shower. They are very easy games, fun and with little prior preparation.
Game 1: "Guess the size of the belly"
How to play this game: During the baby shower, make sure all the guests are seated in a circle around the mom. Instruct mom to stand up. Then, pass out a roll or two of toilet paper to the guests and instruct them to remove the amount of paper they think will fit around Mom's belly from the roll. Then, each guest approaches the mother and puts her paper measurement around her belly to see who did the right thing. The measure that fits the best without being letter or long wins this baby shower game!
A variation: Instead of going over to mom to see who guessed the right thing to do, you can surprise guests by instructing them to say one thing about mom that they like for each box of toilet paper you pulled out. Or they can give a tip on how to raise a baby for each frame. Regardless, those who take out a lot of paper are going to say a lot!
Game 2: "Babbling"
How to Play this Game: Print a copy of this card below for each of the guests. During the baby shower, give each guest a card from the game and a pen or pencil. The words in the game are scrambled. You have to arrange the letters until you spell the word correctly. Every word is about "baby stuff." For example: atgaer = crawl, or lañpa = diaper. The first person to finish all the words wins the game! A small prize can be given to the winner.
The first card that we present to you below is an example of this game. You can download and print it or you can use it as an example. The second card is the responses to the first card.
Game 3: «Baby Memory»
Preparation for this game: Before the baby shower, buy or borrow 20-30 baby things. Before the baby shower starts, put all of these things on a tray.
How to play this game: During the baby shower, give each person a paper and a pen. Walk around the entire room with the tray and show each person the things on the tray. Let them have a good look at it, then hide the tray and tell everyone to write down everything they can remember. Give them 4 or 5 minutes and then tell them to finish, and then bring the tray with all the things. Take each item out, one at a time, and let everyone check off how many things they remembered. The guest who agreed the most wins!
