What exercises should I not do during pregnancy?

We are always talking about exercising, whether you are pregnant or not, is very healthy for your health, and if you are pregnant, it will be very beneficial for the growth of the baby.

But not all activities are recommended to do during pregnancy. Contact sports such as basketball, volleyball or martial arts are not recommended for this stage of your life, as well as we do not recommend exercises or sports where you can suffer falls (horse riding, sky, surfing).

Sports where you have to immerse yourself or be in the water for too long are not recommended either. In this group we include canoeing or diving. Being submerged high enough above sea level can hurt the baby.

Other sports or physical activities that you should not do to avoid damaging the joints are: weight lifting, high-impact aerobics, sit-ups or squats, running at high speed, etc.

These are just some tips for physical activities that you should not do during pregnancy. Likewise, we always recommend that you first consult your obstetrician who will evaluate the case of each one in particular and will tell you if there are more exercises that you should not do or if you are allowed some of the ones we mentioned.
