Homemade cereal porridge, easy and 100% natural

Oatmeal

The cereal porridge is a very frequent dish in the eating of the baby, it provides much of the nutrients and vitamins that babies need to grow and develop properly, including iron.

The most common thing is to buy this porridge already prepared, but what if we prepare our own homemade cereal porridge, with 100% natural ingredients ?. This option has many advantages, the first is that we can select the cereals that we like the most according to the nutritional contribution that our baby needs and, in addition, we can choose if we want the porridge with or without gluten.

Whether or not our homemade porridge has gluten will depend on the cereals chosen, for example, rice, oats and tapioca are gluten-free and, therefore, we can incorporate them into our baby's diet from the beginning (from the 4-5 months, except if the pediatrician gives you other indications). You can start with a single cereal and later mix several.

How to prepare homemade cereal porridge

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of cereals (as I said before, you can choose the ones you prefer)
  • 3-4 cups of mineral water

Preparation

Grind the cereal grains to a powder. You can use a grinder or a mincer. Boil the water and add the ground cereals, mix and that's it. It is kept in the fridge in a hermetically sealed jar for 72 hours.

You can add breast milk or formula or mix it with a fruit puree.

Hello Dunia, in the case of rice for example, just grind it raw and add it to milk or hot water?
